Where do you buy your foods?
- R.O.C.’s Healthy Meals uses organic, chemical-free and local ingredients without fail, and shops for groceries from quality retailers such as Whole Foods, Sprout's market, local food coops and farmers markets. We also participate in sustainable seafood programs, which allow us to provide the best possible quality of wild caught seafood available here in Las Vegas.
What are portion sizes like?
- Our portion sizes are determined by individual and family preferences.
How much room do I need to store meals?
- This depends on how many weeks of meals and portions you order. However, we recommend clearing a good amount of space in both the refrigerator and freezer for your meals.
How long do meals last?
- All dishes are prepared the day before you receive them. In the refrigerator, we suggest dishes to be consumed within 14 days. Frozen entrees will last up to 2 yrs, but we suggest consuming them within 6 weeks so that they retain maximum flavor. In some cases, we will recommend dishes that are best not frozen to be stored in the refrigerator and eaten earlier.
How do I heat and serve the meals?
- We will provide you with detailed instructions for the reheating of your meals.
How do you come up with the cost?
- We use the best ingredients possible and a lot of time and effort goes into each meal setting the price is based on quality not value. Prices are based on the service fee plus food cost. It also includes grocery shopping, meal preparation, packaging and labeling of your meals, travel time and delivery. All fresh foods, spices, pantry items and storage containers are also included.
How do I pay?
- We accept Cash App and/or Venmo. Payment in full 1 week before service.
What if I go on vacation?
- Two weeks advance notice is required to stop service. You can elect not to receive any meals, or we can stock your freezer with delicious entrees before you leave so you can enjoy them when you return.
Terminology You Should Know
Why buy organic?
Organic vs. Natural
Regulation
Natural Meat and Poultry
G.M.O.'s
- Certified Organic growers follow strict guidelines for safe and hygienic food production, offering consumers products they can trust. Foods that are labeled organic must meet or exceed the regulations of the USDA. This means that they must be grown and processed using organic farming methods that recycle resources and support biodiversity. Crops must be grown without synthetic pesticides, bio engineered genes, petroleum-based fertilizers or sewage sludge-based fertilizers. Organic livestock must be given organic feed, have access to the outdoors and be raised free of antibiotics and growth hormones.

Organic vs. Natural
- The difference is the regulations that govern their production and the contents of the finished product, natural and organic foods are not the same.
Regulation
- According to the Food Marketing Institute (FMI), "natural" foods are minimally processed and free of artificial sweeteners, colors, flavors and additives like hydrogenated oils, stabilizers and emulsifiers. But there is no certification or inspection system to ensure that the label is accurate. Also, the term "natural" does not usually relate to growing methods or the use of preservatives, whereas organically-grown foods have strict regulations in these areas. The National Organic Program, part of the United States Department of Agriculture, holds the food industry to strict standards in the production and sale of organic foods.
Natural Meat and Poultry
- According to the Food Marketing Institute, the term "natural" is regulated when it comes to meat and poultry. The USDA Food Safety and Inspection Service requires natural meat and poultry to be free of artificial colors, flavors, sweeteners, preservatives and ingredients, and they must be minimally processed. Labels on natural meat and poultry should clarify the use of the term natural, such as there being no artificial ingredients. But labeling meat and poultry products as natural implies nothing about how these foods were raised, which means the animals could have been subjected to hormones or antibiotics. Also, the term "natural" has no connection to the living conditions of the animals, whereas organic labels do.
