Chef Robert A. Blanks, a well-traveled and storied chef who has lived on his own since he was a young boy at the age of 14. He has pursued being a Chef for more than 35 years since then. With a great list of accomplishments over the years Robert has been creating foods that not only touch your heart but his food is also very nutritious and delicious. Robert first appeared on the scene in 1981 this is where his wonderful journey started he says. His first job in the kitchen was a prep cook and dish washer position for the Union Hotel in Occidental, California, since he was a minor who had lied about his age so that he could work, eat, past the time and try to find a place to stay for the night. Even though he was on the streets he still kept himself in school and played football, ran track and wrestled up to his junior year. Then he moved to the city of Marin County and worked as a cook for the Velvet Turtle, Oggi, The Dock restaurant in Tiburon, The Cliff House & Victoria Station in San Francisco. This was the beginning of a career that would take Robert to many places.
After gaining extensive knowledge from traveling abroad, Robert decided to move to Indianapolis where he began his first entrepreneurial venture in the launch of Touch of Class Catering. This company gained an admiration from the community, catering to a fruitful clientele such as Liz Clair borne, Alyssa Milano, and Indianapolis Colts football team, Damien Center, Blue Cross and Indianapolis Art Museum and the Indy Historical Society. Moving on and growing over the years he has played key roles in the opening of some major restaurants and brands like Planet Hollywood,R-ONE, Brinkers International, Marriott Corporation, Griffin- Mansions, the Darden Corporation, Stuart Anderson Black Angus, and the world known Padovani's at Double-tree Hotel and resort in Honolulu Hawaii just to name a few.
After persistent research in produce and proteins created with growth hormones along with pesticides and GMOs, steroids, antibiotics and other harmful chemical that we consume here in the US, he has finally figured out what role he can assume to create a change in the way people live there lives today. Real Organic Chef was born to bring back the simplicity of Real Food For A Better Life. Chef Robert's knowledge of nutrition, culinary skills, and passion have combined together to create a team that focuses on nutrition and the importance of conscious eating while cultivating an appreciation for nourishing the body.
